The 26th Prakatotsav (divine appearance day) of the revered Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj, the Sajjada Gaddinashin of Darbar Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj, Dehradun, was celebrated with deep devotion, faith, and spiritual joy in a sacred atmosphere. The Honourable Chief Minister of the state, Pushkar Singh Dhami, called Shri Maharaj Ji to convey his greetings and best wishes on the occasion. Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat visited Shri Darbar Sahib, received blessings from Shri Maharaj Ji, and extended his heartfelt birthday (Prakatotsav) wishes.
Thousands of devotees from Uttarakhand, neighbouring states, across the country, and from abroad arrived at Shri Darbar Sahib, bowed their heads in reverence, received blessings from Shri Maharaj Ji, and conveyed their heartfelt greetings on his birthday (Prakatotsav). On this auspicious and sacred occasion, special prayers were performed at Shri Darbar Sahib, followed by the distribution of prasad among devotees with feelings of love, service, and dedication.
It is noteworthy that on this very day, February 10, 2000, the late revered Shri Mahant Indiresh Charan Das Ji Maharaj accepted Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj as his disciple, and Shri Maharaj Ji received initiation under his Guru’s guidance. This day symbolizes the divinity and blessings of the Guru–disciple tradition. Since then, February 10 has been celebrated with devotion as the birthday (Prakatotsav) of Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj.
On June 25, 2000, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj ascended the Gaddi as Sajjadanashin of Darbar Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj, Dehradun (Shri Darbar Sahib), infusing new energy into the spiritual traditions of Shri Darbar Sahib. On this occasion, Shri Maharaj Ji stated that service is the greatest form of religion. With compassion and humility, while meditating upon Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj, he said that the Guru has always inspired him through a subtle spiritual presence. He acquainted the Sangat with the glory of the Guru and conveyed the message of spiritual awakening, saying that the Guru is the one who leads humanity from darkness to light. He also expressed that he has always received immense love, trust, and blessings from the people of Dehradun, the state, the nation, and devotees.
Reaffirming his resolve, Shri Maharaj Ji said that along with giving society a new and right direction, the SGRR Mission remains fully committed, with dedication and sincerity, to providing quality education and healthcare services to remote and hilly regions of Uttarakhand. Under this mission, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital is dedicated to delivering healthcare services with compassion to villages across Uttarakhand and neighboring states. At the same time, Shri Guru Ram Rai University continues to work tirelessly and with a spirit of service to make higher education accessible to all sections of society. He reiterated that the SGRR Mission will always strive to bring the underprivileged and weaker sections of society into the mainstream.
Subsequently, students and staff of Shri Guru Ram Rai Public Schools operating across North India, doctors and staff of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun, along with many eminent citizens of the city, devotees from various districts of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and from different parts of India and abroad, visited Shri Darbar Sahib to seek blessings from Shri Maharaj Ji and conveyed their respectful wishes for his long life. Devotees from Punjab and Haryana had arrived at Shri Darbar Sahib as early as Sunday. The series of greetings continued with devotion and enthusiasm until late evening. On this occasion, special arrangements for sweets and langar were made for devotees in a well-organized and service-oriented manner. Many distinguished and eminent citizens of Dehradun also visited Shri Darbar Sahib to extend their heartfelt greetings to Shri Maharaj Ji.
Under the joint auspices of the Blood Bank of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Shri Mahakal Seva Samiti, and SGRR PG College, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized in the Shri Darbar Sahib premises. As part of this noble service to humanity, 65 units of blood were donated during the camp. Shri Mahakal Seva Samiti President Roshan Rana and his team, Blood Bank Coordinator Amit Chandra, and SGRR PG College Students’ Union President Balbir Kunwar provided special, commendable, and selfless support in making the camp successful.
