- SANGAT DEVOTEES FLOCKED IN FROM INDIA & ABROAD TO MARK THE ‘MAHANIRVANA PARVA’OF SHRI GURU RAM RAI JI MAHARAJ
The 339th Mahanirvana Parva of Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj was observed with unmatched faith this year also just like every year. On Sunday, 31st August 2025, Sajjadanashin (Spiritual Superior of the Shrine) of Shri Darbar Sahib Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj organized special prayers to mark this occasion of Mahanirvana Parva. Shri Maharaj Ji, at the bank of the pond located near Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flagpole), offered homage to Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj. After that, 17 purohits made a ‘pind’ of rice, milk, honey, Gangajal, ghee and shakkar and carried out the prayers. Then the Prasadam (spiritual food) was distributed among the sangats devotees and Shri Maharaj Ji showered his divine blessings over thousands of devotees that had come from every part of the country and abroad. Then a Prasad of fruits was distributed among the Sangat devotees and special langar (holy feast) was organized. Thousands of Sangat devotees bowed down at the Samadhi Sthal of Guru Maharaj Ji. In the evening, Prasad of ‘halwa poori’ and ‘churma’ were distributed among the devotees. The people of different age groups who had come from all the parts of the country felt blessed for being a part of this Mahanirvana Parva. The Medical Team of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital was available all the time at Shri Darbar Sahib to tackle any medical emergencies.
Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj was born in 1646 on the ‘panchmi’ of ‘Chaitra Mass’. In the year 1676, Guru Maharaj ji arrived at Dehradun. Guru Maharaj Ji turned Dehradun into a sacred place by making it his place of duty (karmasthali). Dehradun got its name by the ‘Dera’ of Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj. ‘Bhadrasudi 8 Sanwat 1744 (4th September 1687) he went to the abode of the God while remembering the God. The sangats observe the soul of Guru Maharaj Ji as immortal and serve the Samadhi of Shri Guru Maharaj Ji while observing this day as Mahanirvana Parva.
While showering his divine blessings over the ‘sangats’, Shri Maharaj Ji said that the place of Guru is even higher than the God. He said that those people who follow the path laid down by the Guru achieve all the goals in life. He also offered ardas prayer for the happiness, prosperity and peace of the country people. The devotees flocked in thousands in numbers at Shri Darbar Sahib right from the morning till late in the evening. The ‘Sangat’ devotees availed the Darshan (spiritual sight) of Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flagpole), Shri Darbar Sahib and took the divine blessings of Shri Maharaj Ji.
105 UNITS COLLECTED AT VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP
In the Blood Donation Camp dedicated to Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji, the Sangat devotees donated 105 units of blood. On the Mahanirvana Parva of Shri Guru Ram Rai, Shri Mahakal Sewa Samiti organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in association with Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital Blood Bank. In the Voluntary Blood Donation Camp, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj gave a start by lamp lighting. Shri Maharaj Ji honoured the blood donors by awarding them a memento as well as showering his divine blessings over them. He highly praised the Mahakal Sewa Samiti’s constructive and social works. Both men and women donated blood with enthusiasm. The occasion was also marked by the auspicious presence of famous Bhagwatacharya Subash Joshi, Shri Prithvi Nath Sewadal’s Sanjay Garg, Naveen Gupta, Vivek Mohan Srivastava and Shri Mahakal Sewa Samiti’s Roshan Rana, Hemraj Arora, Vinay Prajapati, Ayush Jain, Gaurav Jain, Balkishan Sharma, Sanjeev Gupta, Nitin Agarwal, Rahul Mata, Vikram Chaudhary, Kritika Rana, Anushka Rana, etc. The team of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital Blood Bank was represented by Amit Chandra and Dr. Supreet Kaur.
