- THE PROCESS OF SANGAT DEVOTEES ARRIVING AT SHRI DARBAR SAHIB GAINS MOMENTUM
Dehradun. After the festival of Holi, the decoration and attraction of Shri Darbar Sahib has started becoming unmatched. The process of arriving of Sangat devotees at Shri Darbar Sahib has also gained momentum. Various decorations have been done at Shri Darbar Sahib and the shops on the Mela (Fair) market are also being given a finishing touch to their decorations. The various swings to be installed at Shri Jhande Ji Mela have been finally prepared by the artists. On the whole, the attraction of Shri Darbar Sahib is beginning to glow. Sangat devotees from various parts of the country especially Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan kept reaching Shri Darbar Sahib till late in the evening. Shri Jhande Ji Mela Organizing Committee has estimated that this year lakhs of Sangats and devotees will be reaching to be blessed by the transcendental bliss of Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flag pole). Shri Jhande Ji Mela will be concluded on 06th April 2024 on the day of Ramnavmi festival.
On Saturday, Shri Darbar Sahib’s Sajjadanashin (Spiritual superior of the shrine) Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj after the daily routine prayers gave his spiritual sight (Darshan) to the Sangat devotees. He also released necessary directions to Shri Jhande Ji Mela Organizing Committee. Shri Jhande Ji Mela Organizing Committee is giving finishing touch to the preparations of Shri Jhande Ji Mela. At Shri Darbar Sahib’s langar hall (holy food eating place), special arrangement of langar prasad (holy food) has been done for the Sangat devotees.
Chief Manager of Shri Jhande Ji Mela Organizing Committee, Madhusudan Semwal informed that 42 C.C.T.V.s have been installed at the Mela premises. He said that a team of doctors and nursing staff of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital will also be on duty from Monday at the Mela Hospital to take care of medical needs of the public. Free medicines will also be distributed by the team of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. 2 Ambulances will also be present at the mela premises to handle any medical emergencies. He said that 25 Fire Extinguishers have also been installed at the Mela premises. On behalf of Shri Jhande Ji Mela Organizing Committee, 35 uniformed security guards and 500 Sangat volunteers will also be on duty to take care of mela management, discipline and smooth organizing of Shri Jhande Ji Mela.
On Sunday, 16th March 2025, the Sangat devotees will carry the new Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flag pole) from SGRR Public School, Bombay Bagh on their shoulders to Shri Darbar Sahib. For this holy activity, all the preparations have been made. To witness this holy event, Sangat devotees from India and abroad have reached Shri Darbar Sahib. Under the mentorship of Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, on Sunday, 16th March 2025, Sangat devotees will carry the new Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flag pole) on their shoulders from SGRR Public School, Bombay Bagh to THDC Chowk to in front of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hiospital then to Lal Pul, from there towards Matawala Bagh and will then reach Shri Darbar Sahib with new Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flag pole).
