On Monday, a large number of Sangat devotees reached Shri Darbar Sahib for availing the Darshan (Spiritual sight). They bowed down at Shri Darbar Sahib and Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flag pole) and prayed for wishes to be fulfilled. Sajjadanashin (Spiritual superior of the shrine) of Shri Darbar Sahib, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, gave his Darshan (spiritual glimpse) to the Sangat Devotees and showered his divine blessings over them.
Shri Maharaj Ji threw light over the historical and religious significance of Shri Jhande Ji. He urged the Sangat devotees to embrace the sacredness of food, behavior and thoughts which will lead to a successful life and is the char di kala (real spirit) of Shri Jhande Ji Mela. He said that if faith and belief of Sangat devotees is there, then the darshan (spiritual glimpse) of the God will be possible. The true Guru makes the shishya (devotee) capable. He said that human life is precious, do not waste it. He urged the Sangat devotees to practice bhakti (prayer) and make their life successful.
On Tuesday, the new Sangat devotees will be given namdaan and Gurumantra. As per tradition, Gurumantra is given before and after the ascension of Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flag pole).
THIS IS THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF SHRI JHANDE JI MELA
The elder son of the Seventh Guru of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Har Rai Ji Maharaj, Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj was born in 1646 at Keeratpur of District Hoshiyarpur, Punjab. Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj chose Dehradun as his tapshtali (seat of religious austerity) and hoisted the big flag at Shri Darbar Sahib for public welfare. He gave the message to the devotees to take blessings from the flag. Every year, the fifth day after Holi Chaitravadi Panchmi is celebrated as the birthday of Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj and to mark this occasion, every year Shri Jhande Ji Mela (fair) is organized. Its significant to mention that on the occasion of birthday of Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj, every year Darbar Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj organizes Shri Jhande Ji Mela.
CABINET MINISTER GANESH JOSHI BOWES DOWN AT SHRI DARBAR SAHIB
Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Uttarakhand, Ganesh Joshi bowed down at Shri Darbar Sahib on Monday. He had a formal meeting with Shri Darbar Sahib’s Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj and took his divine blessings. Both the personalities discussed in detail the contemporary issues of the state. The Cabinet Minister was welcomed at Shri Darbar Sahib as per the tradition of Shri Darbar Sahib.
Over this occasion, the Cabinet Minister congratulated the Sangat devotees and all on the occasion of historical Shri Jhande Ji Mela.
THE SACRED POND ADDS TO THE GLAMOUR OF THE MELA
The history of Pond of Shri Darbar Sahib is closely associated with the history of Shri Darbar Sahib. Every year, the Sangat devotees take a dip in the holy pond and earn a noble deed. After the renovation the pond has also become very beautiful and attractive. Especially in the night, the reflection of lighting and the view of sacred pond is looking fabulous. Ozone Water Filtration Plant has been installed in the sacred pond that does not let the water go polluted and maintains its cleanliness.
SHRI DARBAR SAHIB BATHED WITH MILKY LIGHTING
Shri Jhande Ji Mela Organizing Committee has made special arrangements of the decoration of Shri Darbar Sahib. Special decorations have been done in every part of Shri Darbar Sahib. Especially the beauty of Shri Darbar Sahib the view is being reflected in the night. The beauty of Shri Darbar Sahib is looking gorgeous due to the milky lighting being put on it from all the four sides.
THE SEQUENCE OF ARRIVAL OF SANGAT DEVOTEES CONTINUES AT SHRI DARBAR SAHIB
Sangat devotees have been arriving in huge numbers at Shri Darbar Sahib in huge numbers. Sangat devotees from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan arrived at Shri Darbar Sahib on Sunday. Sangat devotees from abroad are also adding to the beauty of Shri Jhande Ji Mela.
THE PROCESS OF STITCHING GILAAFS IS ALMOST COMPLETED
Chief Manager, Shri Jhande Ji Mela Organizing Committee, Madhusudan Semwal informed that on Monday, the process of stitching the gilaafs went on very fast. The female Sangat devotees have been stitching the gilaafs with faith. Its significant to mention that three types of gilaafs are made to wear on Shri Jhande Ji (the holy flag pole). The most inside are put the simple gilaafs which are 41 in number at Shri Jhande Ji. In the mid, shaneel gilaafs are put on Shri Jhande Ji which are 21 in number. On the most outside, Darshani gilaaf is put over Shri Jhande Ji which is just one in number.
STRICT SECURITY MEASURES, CCTV CAMERAS ARE KEEPING AN EYE
At the mela organizing spot, 42 CCTV cameras have been installed. The team of doctors and nursing staff of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital are on duty at the Mela Aspatal (fair hospital). Free medicines are also being distributed by Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. 2 Ambulances are available to assist the fair hospital. 26 Fire extinguishers have been installed at the fair premises. Shri Jhanda Ji Mela Organizing Committee has deputed 35 uniformed security guards and 500 volunteers to ensure the security, discipline and smooth running of the whole programme. Arrangements have been finalized for the Mela Police Thana (Fair Police Station).
