Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission was established in 1952 by Brahmleen Shri Mahant Indiresh Charan Das Ji Maharaj to impart quality education to the students belonging to all the classes of society at affordable rates. With a modest beginning, the Mission today imparts quality education to more than one lakh students in its 122 institutions in Northern India through English and Hindi medium from nursery to PhD. level encompassing all the professional courses.
Besides running Sanskrit Mahavidayalaya, Hindi Medium Schools, Public Schools and PG College the Mission has established Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Technology & Science in 1994 where professional courses in the field of Management, Pharmacy, Computer application & Life Sciences are available at graduate and post graduate level along with B.Sc. Agriculture and B.Com.
The Chairman of the Mission, Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj added new dimensions to the social service and pursuit of it by starting Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, College of Nursing and College of Paramedical Science. Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and all these institutions are epitome of excellence of academic and quality health care respectively and catering the populace of Uttarakhand and its neighboring States.
Many National and International awards have been conferred on Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj in recognition for exemplary contribution of Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission towards Nation building under the leadership of His Holiness.
Realizing the necessity of the rural folk for medical care Shri Mahant Devendra Dass ji Maharaj established SGRRIMH&HS in the year 2002 under its ambit, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital became functional in 2002 itself. The hospital is 1000 bedded with all the therapeutic and diagnostic equipments like CT scan, Blood Component Separator, Mammography, MRI, Cath Lab, CTVS, Laser, more than 100 ICU beds, 24X7 emergency etc. while oncology and nuclear medicine will soon be introduced. On an average, there are 2000 patients in OPD and 800 patients in IPD on daily basis. The hospital not only caters the need of people of Uttarakhand but its neighboring States like Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab also.
The institute has annual intake of 150 seats in MBBS course which was started in year 2006. The institute has been running PG Courses in all non-clinical and clinical subjects since year 2011. The institute is making a rapid progress and Shri Maharaj Ji has a vision to make the institute a 'Beacon of hope for all the section of society.’
To provide International exposure to the students and faculty of the institute, it has MOU with Kansas University of medicine, USA, McMaster School University, Canada, Alberta University of Canada and with other reputed Universities of the World. Two faculties apiece from Kansas University and SGRRIMHS have already visited each other. During the period when the MOU was signed eight faulty members from USA visited the institute and observed the working of the college and hospital. They were very much impressed by the system. This will be a regular programme with Kansas University, USA. Recently in the month of July 2014, 05 students of MBBS Course of McMaster School, University of Canada also visited the SGRRIM&HS, they learnt and observed the functioning of the institute and its teaching hospital.
It was established in 1960 with the aim to provide quality higher education to the students at nominal cost. In addition to the traditional courses at the higher level, the college has some specialized courses too, such as B.Sc. Agriculture, M.Sc. Agronomy, B.Ed /M.Ed/ MS.W/M.Sc Microbiology/ M.Sc. Biotechnology / B.Sc. Biotechnology with CBZ /B.Sc. Microbiology with CBZ and Mass communication . In order to keep pace with the modern age all the science labs were renovated in addition to the renovation of the old building. The college made steady progress over the years and now it provides quality education up to Ph.D. level in Botany/Chemistry/Mathematics/ Physics/Geology/ English/Literature & Economics.
The NAAC has accredited SGRR (PG) college with Grade 'A' (3.04 CGPA) and UGC has selected the college as a "College with the potential for the excellence". After the CPE of UGC, the college is amongst first 150 colleges of India with potential for excellence.
In response to the global need for technology and Science, this institute was established in the year 1994. The institute has state of the art, infrastructure and all the requisite equipment as per the requirements of AICTE and PCI. The institute offers courses in Management, Pharmacy, Computer Application, Life Sciences both at graduate and post graduate level together with B.Sc. Agriculture and B.Com.
SHRI GURU RAM RAI PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The Mission is running more than 100 Public Schools in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab & Delhi; these are affiliated to/recognized by CBSE & State Boards respectively. All these schools are running with the axiom "to provide Quality English Medium Education at affordable rates to all the sections of society." Besides running public schools the Mission is also running 08 Hindi medium schools at nominal fees.
Nursing staff plays pivotal role in health care delivery system. We cannot think about proper patient care without nursing staff. To fulfill this gap college of nursing was started in year 2005. The college offers all the nursing courses at graduate and post graduate level including ANM & GNM.
In contemporary practice of medicine and surgery we cannot deny the importance of diagnostic techniques and the role of technicians in it. To strengthen this segment of health care delivery system a paramedical college was started in the year 2005. The college offers Bachelor & Master Degree in Physiotherapy, Medical Radio-diagnosis, Medical Lab Technology together with B.Sc. MM and B.Sc. Opto.
SHRI LAXMAN SANSKRIT MAHAVIDYALAY
In order to make a synthesis of oriental and modern learning, the Mission imparts Sanskrit education to the students from various parts of the country at free of cost. The Scholars/ pandits (religious teachers) are doing a great service to the society not only by conducting religious ceremonies but also boosting the morale of the defence personnel as religious teachers and by providing ethical teachings to the people.
MONTHLY MAGAZINE OF THE MISSION
For social awareness and to apprise about the events of all the institutes of the Mission the bilingual monthly magazine 'Ratnank' is being published by the Mission.
FUTURE PLANS
- It is the dream of the Chairman of the Mission Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj to provide health care facilities in the far flung areas of the Uttarakhand by opening hospitals in all the blocks of Uttarakhand.
- The 300 bedded cancer institute would very soon be established.
- The proposal to establish Shri Guru Ram Rai University would very soon be sanctioned by State Legislature; it would be a boost in higher education in North India.
